A+E Architects completed a feasibility study for Hostelling International - Eastern New England Council to evaluate the opportunities for creating the first 'green' hostel in the United States. The rendering and study describe the background and recommendations for an environmentally responsible hostel on Cape Cod. |
sustainable features: passive solar design, shading on south facade, reused salvage materials from on site, solar thermal domestic hot water and heating, rapidly-renewable and sustainable finish materials, new high performance thermal envelope including doors, windows, walls & roof, wind turbine to provide all electricity
