A+E Architects designed a renovation project that adapted an historic fire station located on Commercial Street into public restroom and tourist information on the first floor. The second and third floor will be renovated into affordable housing units for summer police staffing needs. The existing historic features were preserved and updated while the building is now accessible to all. |
sustainable features: tight thermal envelope so little heating will be necessary, natural daylighting, efficient electrical fixtures, low-flow water fixtures, durable building and finish materials with low life-cycle costs, energy-efficient windows
