Ensure Water Quality: water quality on Cape Cod is an essential concern. We are a sole source aquifer and therefore well locations, rates, and water quality are all concerns, test existing wells, design adequate septics
Zeroscaping: use native plants that require minimal watering, use grass for lawns minimally, rebuild buffers between existing wetlands to preserve the wetlands
Alternative Septic Systems: use latest technologies including fast systems, constructed wetlands, composting toilets whenever possible to reduce nitrate emissions to wetlands
rain water harvesting: consider using collected rainwater for irrigation purposes
greywater: utilize greywater (waste water from sinks, showers, appliances) to irrigate lawns
water efficiency : utilize water conserving strategies for toilets, shower heads, sinks, washers etc to reduce the amount of water used by the building in total
